Week 2 Camp - Multi-Stream  July 9-13

For 9 years we held our Track and Field Camp the second week in July providing an introduction of track and field skills. As our 10th camp approached we decided it was time for a change and decided to run a multi-sport camp, and in 2016 offered instruction in Football, Floor/Road Hockey, Track and alternative sports such as Ultimate Frisbee, Soccer Baseball and Gaga Ball.  The next year we offered similar sports with adding Spikeball to the mix.

WEEK 2

is

FULL

Changing things a bit again this year, for our 2018 Multi-Stream camp campers will get to choose what they would like to concentrate on as we will be offering three separate streams.  Campers will be able to choose between Art (drawing, painting and mixed media), Baseball and Basketball. Campers will be split up into groups based on their choice of focus area (we will further subdivide groups based on age), and will spend time doing that activity each day of the week.

During this week campers will spend time being trained in their choice of focus and will also rotate through the VBS stations which include rallies, games, music, Bible lesson and swimming at the Centennial Pool (we will not have a craft rotation this week).

Meet Our Week 2 STREAM LEADERS

MIKE ANDERSON - Baseball

Mike Anderson and his family lived in Saugeen Shores for over a decade before recently moving to Toronto, where Mike studies at the Toronto School of Theology.  He is a jack-of-all-sports, master-of-none kind of a guy.  As for his baseball career, after going undrafted by the Blue Jays (for 20 years in a row), he played C division Slo-Pitch for two seasons before finally hanging up the cleats (which are still fairly new).  Despite this less-than-illustrious career, he has enjoyed coaching minor baseball, hockey and basketball, and looks forward to having lots of fun and developing skills with kids on the diamond at HOTM this summer.

Bethany Boville is no stranger to Heroes on the Move, having participated in camp every year since it began, first as a camper, leader in training, and then staff.

She is currently in her her 3rd year of studying Fine Art and English at Redeemer University College in Ancaster. She enjoys working with children and teaching art classes.     She especially enjoys painting, and

BETHANY BOVILLE - Art

has painted two murals in the stairwell at Centennial Pool.   She will be leading the craft rotation the first week of camp, and teaching drawing, painting and mixed media for the art stream the second week of camp.                                                       https://bethbartist.wordpress.com
